Alfin Carl Maynor, Sr. , 62, of Pax, WV died on Friday, October 13, 2006 at his home following an accident. Born February 25, 1944 at Old Willis Branch Hollow, WV he was the son of the late Ross and Della Jane Williams Maynor. He was a retired coal miner with 32 years service having been last employed by Consolidation Coal Company. Alfin was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, District 17. Survivors include those left to cherish his memory include his companion, Glenda Treadway; son, Alfin Carl Maynor, Jr. of Johnston, NY; daughter, Laura F. Washburn of Pinch, WV; three brothers, Raymond L. Maynor of Mossy, Sanford E. Maynor and wife, Mary L. of Beckley, WV and Gary C. Maynor and wife, Alife of Pax, WV; five sisters, Ethel P. FLint of Lanark, WV, Gloria J. Crew and husband, Willis, of Stanarfor, WV, Margaret L. Wines of Old Willis Branch Hollw, Mable A. Williams and husband, Dennis of Toney Fork and Florabelle Wines and husband, Herman of Old Willis Branch Hollow. Others mourning Alfins passing include his six grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held at is home on Old Willis Branch Hollow, Pax on Tuesday, October 17, 2006, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Services will be on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at his home on Old Willis Branch Hollow in Pax with Rev. Dwayne Williams officiating. Burial will be at Maynor Family Cemetery, Pax WV.
