Alexander Tolstick, 78, of Oak Hill died Friday at the UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, Va. after a short illness. Born July 21, 1925 at Minden, WV, he was a son of the late Nick and Mary Muros Tolstick. He was a retired coal miner with Central Appalachian Co. with 37 years of service. He was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle, Oak Hill, a member of the UMWA, American Legion Post #149 and a US Army veteran. He was preceded in death by one brother, Nick Tolstick, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Mary Gadomski Tolstick of Oak Hill and two brothers, Steve Tolstick of Elyria, Ohio and Frank Tolstick of California. Services will be 2 PM Monday at the Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle, Oak Hill with the Rev. Robert Isaac and Rev. Allen Gallimore officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill with military rites by VFW Post 3110, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 6 until 9 PM Sunday evening at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill.
