Alexander "Alex" Sneddon

Alexander "Alex" Sneddon , 84, of Rt 3 Fayetteville, WV went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born June 28, 1926 at Kilsyth, WV he was the son of the late John Laird and Margaret McNeil Sneddon. He retired from the US Postal Service in Cincinnati, OH with 27 years service. Mr. Sneddon was a member of the Mount Hope Christian Church. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. Two sisters, Martha Ingles and Margaret Nichols and three brothers, William Sneddon, Robert Sneddon and John Sneddon preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Black Sneddon; son, Alexander Scott Sneddon and wife, Sandra, of Ellijay, GA; daughter, Alexandria Jean Price of Kennesaw, GA brother, Ronald Sneddon of Portsmouth, OH, four grandchildren, John R. Haders, Michael A. Haders, Heather J. Frederick and Erin L. Floremonte and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Minister Ken Overdorf officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park. Mausoleum, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Friday, March 18, 2011 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Family members will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley WV 25801.
