Larry was raised in Minden, WV before moving and living most of his adult life in Oak Hill. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine and dedicated his life as a public servant. He was a Fayette County Magistrate, served as the Sheriff of Fayette County and worked for the WV State Treasurer until his death. He also served on various committees and boards within Fayette County and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He truly loved his City, County and State. A true West Virginian at heart.
Larry will be fondly remembered by his loved ones as a generous man who was fair, honest and the patriarch of his family. He was a well respected member of his community and was always there to share his wisdom and advice or lend a helping hand. Larry had a wonderful sense of humor and could put a smile on anybody’s face with a joke or a wiggle of an ear. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, fishing and golfing. Even when it was difficult, his dedication to the Chicago Cubs never wavered.
