Dorothy Jean Smith

Dorothy Jean Smith Smith, age 87, of Hilltop, WV, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill.

Born March 26, 1928 at Meadow Creek, WV she was the daughter of the late Jacob C. and Irene Hume Smith.

Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of Thurmond Union Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Estel Smith; a her daughter Connie Lynn Smith; and by her siblings, Ula, Beulah, Jesse, Verland, Allie, Vernie, Lynn and Arebell.

Surviving are her sons, Dalford Smith, Jerry Wayne Smith and wife, Sandra, all of Oak Hill, Harold Gene Smith and wife, Bonnie of Harvey and Gary Dean Smith and wife, Sharon of Maple Fork.

Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with Rev. Freddie Lovell officiating. Burial will follow in Hill Top Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on hour prior to services on Tuesday, May 12, 2015.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
