Having fought a courageous battle against cancer, and still at her home with her loving family by her side, Doris June Worlledge Davis, 86, of Hico, WV gained her Heavenly home on Tuesday, July 19, 2016.
Born April 25, 1930 at Nallen, WV she was the daughter of the late Willie Lee and Tressie Alice Humphries Worlledge.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and retired Southern Baptist Missionary and Church Planner.
One brother, Ariel Worlledge and two sisters, Dorma Worlledge Carter and Gaythel Harrah preceded her in death.
Surviving are her devoted family which includes husband, Rev. John Allen Davis (C.P.O. US Navy, Ret.); one son, John Steven Davis of Hico; three daughters, Dorma Ball of Morgantown, Laura Sue Vasquez of Hico and Barbara McCoy of Natrona Heights, PA; two brothers, Riley Edward Worlledge of Virginia, and Richard Gale Worlledge of Hico; one sister, Janice Morgan of Norfolk, VA; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She will be most missed for her welcoming smile, loving arms, and spunky independent spirit; along with her peanut butter fudge.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2:30 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Bill McClung officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Her cremains will be placed at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Ansted.
